Film Poster Deconstructions


Typography is stark with contrast with the other colours and very simple which portrays the genre.
“Tag line one pill can change your life” is small and in the middle of the poster which makes people concentrate on it.
Light pink/warm colours used to make audience sympathetic.
Main character hidden behind her hair which creates mystery.
Title side effects gives clues to the public about the narrative of the film and that it will include the taking of prescription drugs.

Red cross with blurred out edges conveys the idea of the blood and the death that occurs in the film.






 Typography is cracked and dirty like that world that they live in.
Baseball bat/pole and large amount of red connote to the violence used throughout the film.
Bright pink is associated with young girls and femininity which is opposed.
Film title is a slang term that would be used in an urban environment, target audience of teenagers as they would understand what this word means compare to adults.
Tag line “Man’s world. Sisters Hood” connotes a power struggle between the sexes.
Grey background represents the dismal and urban life they lead.

 Typography reflects the genre as the cracks reflect the cracking world in the image 
The title links to the sub-genre of film it will be: found footage
The colour scheme reflects the city as it is urban and lots of grey and dismal colours are used
The poster has a grainy texture that reminds the audience of the specific sub genre
Tag line where will you be a question to hook in the audience 
The bright red colour of the typography reminds the audience of the red blood and greatly contrasts the background
